Ok so it's not that big and definitely not dangerous but it's a lot more interesting than the garden spiders that we're used to! It's a St Andrews cross spider. They lie in the middle of their webs waiting for flies - very useful for highlighting where the webs are so that we can avoid walking into them (it happens a lot).
